Strom Minnesota is currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician for our client in Brooklyn Park, MN.  Hours are 6:am-2:30pm M-F.

Maintenance Technician

Duties:

  1. Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities with Operations Manager.
  2. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance duties.
  3. Procure spare parts for all production equipment.
  4. Maintain all records of maintenance work performed.
  5. Oversee building, equipment and grounds maintenance; coordinate issues with Operations Manager.

Hiring Criteria:

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. 3-5 years production equipment maintenance experience.
  3. Strong mechanical and electrical skills
  4. Strong detail orientation
  5. Ability to lift 50 lbs.,
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  7. Basic PC skills
  8. Problem solving and trouble-shooting skills

This position requires some travel to our other company facilities.  For that reason, a valid driver’s license is required.

Work Hours:  Monday thru Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician II to assist with maintaining an industrial laundry facility. Responsibilities include but are not limited to repairing, maintaining, installing and troubleshooting industrial equipment, systems and components including but limited to washers, dryers, steam tunnels, conveyor systems and boilers; performing preventive/predictive maintenance; performing various welding activities; preforming boiler chemical testing and making necessary chemistry adjustments; resolving safety concerns; performing indoor and outdoor housekeeping; maintaining inventory supplies; preparing maintenance records; identifying and evaluating, monitoring work performed by inside and outside service companies; responding to emergency alarms; and mentoring Maintenance Technician I partners.

Skills/Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years’ experience repairing industrial processing equipment in an industrial environment or in the military
  • Ability to read maintenance literature printed in English
  • Experience with and ability to read a blueprint
  • Basic Microsoft Office computer skills
  • Ability to stand for up to 7 hours in an 8 hour shift
  • High School Diploma/GED

Preferred

  • Boiler knowledge
  • HVAC experience

The Process Tech/Setup Person must be a positive role model to others and use their people skills to communicate with the departments from upper Management, Plant Manager, Supervisors, and Tooling.  Hours are 7:am-3:pm M-F.

Must be able to operate a fork truck.

Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician (FST) that will be responsible for inspecting and installing equipment, working with contractors on-site for successful installation of equipment and reporting on project status.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair customer’s equipment as required.

Perform in-house testing and documentation. This is a full-time salary position. Typical working hours will be Monday – Friday with hours ranging from 7:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Due to the nature of our business, there will be occasional additional and/or off-hours work required. Extended periods of additional and/or off-hours work will be discussed between employee and supervisor and compensated either by additional PTO or one-time bonus’.

 

Specific Duties Include:

  • Installation and troubleshooting of low and medium voltage switchgear, ATS’s, circuit breakers, protective relays, and control systems.
  • Provide technical support for field startups, warranty claims and maintenance contracts.
  • Troubleshoot and assist in configuration of control systems utilizing PLC/HMI control platform.
  • Travel (occasionally overnight and off-hours) as required to support installation, start up, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform product testing and test results reporting.
  • Assist with redline drawing updates.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with manufacturers and vendor representatives.
  • Resolves customer disputes and inquiries promptly to ensure equitable resolutions to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Projects a positive, professional image of the company in all communications with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Stays current with product updates and code changes.
  • Develops and delivers training on client applications.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Field Service role.
  • Experience with programming PLCs and HMIs.
  • Understanding of 3-phase power systems is preferred. Power distribution, AC/DC, Voltage Circuit Theory, and practical troubleshooting skills.
  • Training in electrical theory and technologies. Understanding of low voltage and/or medium voltage electrical equipment is preferred.
  • Diesel Power generation related controls and experience, including paralleled systems.
  • Strong background in electrical power including low voltage and medium voltage and experience with most types of switchgear testing.
  • Reading schematics and blueprints for power control, automation, and customer technical support.
  • Superior problem solving, project management and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Other Requirements:
  • This position requires the ability to sit, and bend or stand for extended periods of time
