Strom Engineering Minnesota has an exciting new opening for a Maintenance Technician with a great company located in the Twin Cities, MN.

Duties:

  • Perform repairs and/or routine preventative maintenance, trouble-shoot electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Communicate with technical resources internally and externally as needed regarding equipment.
  • Perform preventative machine maintenance and/or repairs.
  • Communicate/consult with outside resources to diagnose/trouble-shoot machine repairs when necessary.
  • Identify and coordinate maintenance schedules and maintain machine maintenance records.
  • Purchase and coordinate timely delivery of replacement parts and other maintenance supplies.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Strong maintenance skills/aptitude: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand computer programs
  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task
  • Machine/equipment maintenance and repair experience
  • Work with little supervision in a “hands on” manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills

Strom Minnesota is currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician for our client in Brooklyn Park, MN.  Hours are 6:am-2:30pm M-F.

Maintenance Technician

Duties:

  1. Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities with Operations Manager.
  2. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance duties.
  3. Procure spare parts for all production equipment.
  4. Maintain all records of maintenance work performed.
  5. Oversee building, equipment and grounds maintenance; coordinate issues with Operations Manager.

Hiring Criteria:

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. 3-5 years production equipment maintenance experience.
  3. Strong mechanical and electrical skills
  4. Strong detail orientation
  5. Ability to lift 50 lbs.,
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  7. Basic PC skills

This position requires some travel to our other company facilities.  For that reason, a valid driver’s license is required.

Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician II to assist with maintaining an industrial laundry facility. Responsibilities include but are not limited to repairing, maintaining, installing and troubleshooting industrial equipment, systems and components including but limited to washers, dryers, steam tunnels, conveyor systems and boilers; performing preventive/predictive maintenance; performing various welding activities; preforming boiler chemical testing and making necessary chemistry adjustments; resolving safety concerns; performing indoor and outdoor housekeeping; maintaining inventory supplies; preparing maintenance records; identifying and evaluating, monitoring work performed by inside and outside service companies; responding to emergency alarms; and mentoring Maintenance Technician I partners.

Skills/Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years’ experience repairing industrial processing equipment in an industrial environment or in the military
  • Ability to read maintenance literature printed in English
  • Experience with and ability to read a blueprint
  • Basic Microsoft Office computer skills
  • Ability to stand for up to 7 hours in an 8 hour shift
  • High School Diploma/GED

Preferred

  • Boiler knowledge
  • HVAC experience

Maintenance Mechanic-Hopkins, MN

Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic is a key member of the Company Engineering team. This full-time, non-exempt position is based in Hopkins, MN and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. This is a position with normal working hours of 7:00 am – 3:30 pm from Monday to Friday. This individual is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment in the Production areas. This position’s primary function is to ensure machinery and equipment in the facility remains in good working order to optimize productivity and efficiencies. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs according to company guidelines and equipment specifications on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems ensuring that all paperwork and procedures are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Adjusts plant equipment ensuring the proper performance and safe operating conditions.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to support production equipment.
  • Performs various “in shop” repairs which may include welding, milling, machining, and other related activities.
  • Diagnoses electrical, mechanical, conveyors, plumbing and similar problems, and applies appropriate corrective action.
  • Communicating and working with other maintenance and production personnel to accomplish all maintenance and repair tasks in a timely and safe manner.
  • Perform all duties while maintaining compliance with regulatory safety requirements, e.g. OSHA.
  • Willing to learn and become proficient in new trades or skills as directed by supervisor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities.
  • Must be able to always utilize proper PPE and understand the concept of LOTO (Lockout / Tagout).
  • Order spare and replacement parts & materials as needed.

  • Industrial manufacturing environment with loud equipment, moving mechanical parts and very hot work areas.
  • Individual is regularly required to stand, walk, use steps, stoop and crouch. Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs. or more.
