The CNC Turning (lathe) Machinist is responsible for setting-up, programming, edit and running computer numeric controlled production equipment to produce precision machined components. Must have at least 8 years of hands-on experience operating on CNC machining equipment in a Machine Shop environment. Must have a solid knowledge on how to program and produce a wide variety of machined parts and be able to complete own inspections to established quality requirements. May also be required to use other machine tools (mill, drill, saw, grinding, etc.). Able to read, interpret and use blueprints, drawings, solid models and design sketches, etc. to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product throughout the machining process.
