Strom Engineering Minnesota has an exciting new opening for a Buyer with a great company located in the Twin Cities area. Responsible for quoting and purchasing stock parts, fabricated parts and equipment. Proactively resolves issues that arise regarding lead time and availability and expediting purchase orders. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. Duties: * Provide part quotes to Aftermarket group including lead time, product availability and price. * Purchase parts determined by sales order and stock requirements including negotiating price and/or lead time. * Expedite purchase orders as needed. * Negotiate price and delivery timeline of equipment and parts. * Act as main point of contact for and manage relationships with suppliers, solve problems and issues as they arise. * Communicate with internal sales stakeholders regarding pricing, lead time and availability of equipment. * Utilize ERP Software to manage suppliers, create purchase orders, create jobs, complete status reports and update equipment and job information. * Maintain updated Job Status Reports on parts assemblies and repair projects. * Create Engineering Change Orders as needed. * Review Vendor and Non-Disclosure Agreements. * Participate in yearly physical inventory. Skills/Qualifications: * Education: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. * Minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchasing fabricated parts and assemblies. * Familiarity with welding and fabrication machining, materials and practices. * Excellent verbal and written communications skills. * Ability to be assertive and to negotiate with vendors. * Pro-active problem-solving and relationship-building skills. * Mechanical aptitude. * Experience using Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, database and ERP System. * Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Permanent Resident Green Card
