POSITION TITLE: Quality Assurance Manager
SUPERVISOR: President; Mike Albers
Job summary: This position oversees the Quality Assurance department and ensures product quality and reliability of parts produced to meet and/or exceed customer specifications. Organizes inspection processes to assure that defects are detected at the earliest point in the manufacturing cycle.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervises Quality Assurance Inspectors and Quality Assurance Administrator. Manages QA personnel processes, performance goals and improvement plans.
- Develops and trains company personnel on quality standards and policies/processes.
- Plans and coordinates with engineering and sales departments in product design, review and approval.
- Plans and supervises studies aimed at improving product quality and reliability.
- Establishes plans to audit and approve vendors for key parts, commodities, and services.
- Oversees and validates testing methods used by staff to ensure quality assurance.
- Leads quality assurance audits conducted internally or performed by external sources
- Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned.
- Works with customers to resolve quality issues.
Education and Experience:
- Required- High School diploma or equivalent. Additional technical schooling in relevant field preferred.
- Preferred- Minimum 5 years of quality assurance experience in a metal manufacturing/fabrication environment.
- Preferred- Minimum 1 year of experience in a leadership position.
- Preferred- Experience working in an ISO9001/AS9100 certified environment.
- Required- basic computer skills; Preferred- proficient computer skills and familiarity with JobBOSS and UniPoint Software systems.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, or other production orders to perform duties.
- Strong attention to quality and detail orientation.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
