Job Summary: A material handler identifies, transports, removes, and disposes of materials throughout the facility doing it efficiently and safely. The individual ensures optimum flow by keeping areas fully stocked while maintaining an organized production area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Delivering materials to and from the work centers as needed by the production team
- Utilize our ERP system to analyze the bill of materials and methods to stage and move work in progress to the appropriate operation, and perform all transactions on the computer; experience with Epicor is a plus
- Pulls material as required for production orders while maintaining organized locations
- Maintain accurate inventory balances and ensure accurate material transactions
- Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition
- Follows all safety policies and procedures in the performance of duties. Utilizes good practice methods for continuous improvement
- Observe all safety requirements, including proper use and wear of PPE; safety glasses to be worn at all times while in the plant
- Be a certified Forklift driver
- Ability to measure, read prints along with basic mathematical skills and following work instructions to identify and verify parts
- Support Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing processes
