Strom Minnesota is looking for an experienced Electrical Drafter to work for our client company located in Plymouth, Minnesota.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Designer I, Electrical is responsible for developing detailed design drawings and related specifications of equipment.
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
Design Process
- Uses 2D and 3D CAD to create complex conceptual layouts of machines, machine components, and systems to meet required specifications.
- Perform multiple types of analysis and basic calculations to verify design decisions.
- Work in coordination with other engineering design disciplines to complete design and drafting tasks within project schedule and scope of work constraints.
- Prepare and check detailed documentation of parts, assemblies and specifications.
- Prepare, check, and process Engineering changes.
- Research and investigate existing designs, supplier specifications, and industry standards for designs to meet product and customer requirements for performance, safety, and quality.
- Read, understand, edit, and create electrical schematics in ladder diagram format.
- Review electrical schematics and create electrical panel and enclosure designs, layouts, and bill of materials.
Design Leadership
- Provide consultation and support to manufacturing, and field personnel regarding questions that arise concerning fit, assembly, or operations of machine components and systems.
POSITION IMPACT:
Improve machine performance and solve reliability issues by supporting internal and external customers.
