Job Posting - Mechanical Project Engineer

Strom Engineering of Minnesota has an exciting new opening for a Mechanical Project Engineer with a great company located in the Twin Cities, MN area. A minimum of 5 years of experience is required.
Duties:
* Set-up, manage and document design and continuous improvement projects.
* Design and develop components and assemblies related to the production of machining centers.
* Create layouts of the proposed design ensuring that designs are functional, safe, reliable, serviceable, manufacturable and cost effective.
* Prepare all project documentation including bills of material, test reports and welding, assembly.
* Meet with management, staff and team members to resolve product/project design issues--ultimate responsibility for product integrity.
* Responsible for monitoring prototype creation.
* Develop, execute and participate in teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to customer's performance expectations.
* Coordinate efforts and schedules between engineering and supporting departments.
* Plan, conduct, coordinate and report on significant project developments.
Skills/Qualifications:
* BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Minimum 5 years' Project Management experience and/or combination of experience and training.
* Strong engineering skills and demonstrated success in meeting cost, schedule and technical goals on engineering projects.
* Proficiency with Solidworks. FEA knowledge a plus.
* 5 years' experience in the Machine Tool industry.
* Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
* Ability to handle multiple projects and conflicting priorities
* Blueprint reading experience associated with precision metal components.
* Proficient in MS Office Products, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Knowledge of manufacturing practices and techniques.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and detail-oriented.
